PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS ADVISER OF THE PRESIDENT OF ESTONIA

20 February 2023 – Philippine Ambassador to Estonia Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz met with Foreign Adviser to the Estonian President Ambassador Celia Kuningas-Saagpakk during her official visit to Tallinn on 20-24 February 2023.

Both sides recalled the historic meeting between Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on the sidelines of the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit in Brussels last December 2022 which signalled an opportunity for both sides to strengthen cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral aspects, particularly in digital technology, e-governance and e-commerce.

Ambassador Ruiz also took the opportunity to reiterate her deep appreciation for the active cooperation between the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia in the virtual celebration of the 30^th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations last 19 December 2021. In closing, Ambassador Ruiz presented a framed metal art décor featuring the iconic Philippine Jeepney, as an anniversary commemorative gift for President Alar Karis.
