PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR JOINS ACW MEETING WITH THE POLAND-ASEAN PARLIAMENTARY GROUPS OF THE SEJM
09 June 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Poland and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Warsaw (ACW) Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz, together with the Ambassadors of Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the CDA a.i. of Thailand, met with the Members of the Polish Sejm to discuss ways to promote parliamentary cooperation and interaction with their parliamentary counterparts in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.
The Sejm initiative, which had the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, also aimed to pave the way for a joint commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN on 08 August 2022, through the holding of a conference on Poland-ASEAN relations which was proposed to be held on 08 September 2022.
