PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH THE RECTOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LATVIA
21 October 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Latvia Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz met with the Rector of the University of Latvia Professor Indriķis Muižnieks, during her official visit to Riga on 20-22 October 2022.
Ambassador Ruiz presented the highlights of Philippines-Latvia relations, including the virtual celebration of the milestone 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations last 17 December 2022. She expressed the hope that this first meeting between the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw and the University of Latvia will boost efforts to promote cooperation in the area of education, culture and tourism, and to encourage people-to-people interaction and linkages between the two countries.
Professor Muižnieks was assisted during the meeting by Ms. Alina Grzhibovska, Head of International Relations of the University, while Ambassador Ruiz was accompanied by her spouse Alejandro Ricardo Ruiz.
