PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION AND HUMAN RIGHTS OF MFA LATVIA

21 October 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Latvia Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz met with Ms. Agnese Vilde, Director of the Department for International Organization and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, during her official visit to Riga on 20-22 October 2022.

Ambassador Ruiz briefed Director Vilde on the latest developments in Philippines-Latvia relations and on the human rights situation in the Philippines particularly on the progress of the implementation of the PHL-UN Joint Program on human rights and the commitment of the Marcos Administration to continue the country’s constructive engagement with partners in the international community including the EU. Both sides noted the active PHL-Latvia cooperation at the multilateral level particularly on exchanges of support for candidatures.
