PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS ADVISER TO H.E. THE PRESIDENT OF LATVIA
20 October 2022 – Philippine Ambassador to Latvia Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz met with Ambassador Solveiga Silkalna, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the President of Latvia Egils Levits, during her official visit to Riga on 20-22 October 2022.
Ambassador Ruiz presented the highlights of bilateral relations, including the virtual celebration of the milestone 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations on 17 December 2021. She also stressed that her visit aims to establish contacts for collaboration in trade, investment, tourism and cultural promotion, especially among the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries and universities for academic exchanges and research cooperation.
Ambassador Ruiz took the opportunity to present a Philippine gift for H.E. President Egils Levits to commemorate the milestone 30th anniversary of Philippines-Latvia relations, consisting of a framed metal art décor featuring the iconic Philippine Jeepney.
