PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN WARSAW SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS OVERSEAS VOTING FOR THE 2022 NATIONAL AND LOCAL ELECTIONS

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw smoothly and successfully conducted its Overseas Voting activities for the 9 May 2022 Philippine National and Local Elections, with the counting and canvassing of votes cast by registered voters in Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, except Ukraine where postal/courier services have been suspended due to the existing situation in that country.

Under the Postal Mode, all ballot packets with complete and correct addresses were sent out to the registered voters before the start of overseas voting on 10 April 2022. The names of those who put their mailing address as the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw or whose mailing addresses were incomplete/incorrect were posted on the Embassy’s website. Many indicated their wish to claim their ballots in person and to cast their votes at the Embassy.

In accordance with Comelec regulations, the Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI) proceeded with the counting of votes cast while the Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) formally convened at exactly 1:00 pm on 9 May 2022. As soon as the counting and canvassing were concluded the next day, the election returns as well as the certificate of canvass were duly and promptly submitted to the COMELEC/National Board of Canvassers (NBOC).
