PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN WARSAW OPENS ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FOR OVERSEAS VOTER REGISTRATION

Following the two-week extension of the period of registration for overseas voters up to 14 October 2021, the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw opened its Consular Section on Saturday 09 October and Sunday 10 October 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to accommodate Filipinos who decided to register.

A total of 37 Filipinos flocked to the Embassy to register during these two days of the extension period.

Under its Consular Sunday program, the Embassy was also open for consular services and overseas voter registration during three Sundays in 2021: 18 July, 08 August and 22 September. A total of 59 Filipinos registered during these days.  In addition, the Embassy conducted five (5) consular outreaches and mobile OV registration in the Polish cities of Szczecin, Slupsk and Wroclaw, as well as in Tallinn, Estonia and in Kyiv, Ukraine, which facilitated the registration of 143 Filipinos.

The Filipinos expressed their appreciation to the Embassy for giving them the opportunity to register because many of them work Mondays through Saturdays and are unable to visit the Embassy.

The Embassy expects a few more Filipinos to take advantage of the OV registration extension which will end on Thursday, 14 October 2021, so that they can participate in the forthcoming national elections in May 2022. END
