WARSAW PE CONCLUDES ANTI-VAW CAMPAIGN WITH ONLINE WORKSHOP FOR FILCOM
The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw took part in the Philippine Government’s annual 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women (VAW) and concluded the campaign on Saturday, 12 December 2020, by co-hosting with a Polish NGO an online workshop tackling VAW issues for the benefit of the Filipino migrant community in Poland.
The Embassy collaborated with the Polish Migration Foundation Forum (PMFF), a Warsaw-based NGO that provides professional assistance and counselling to migrants in Poland, and has a program that focuses on women’s issues. A select group of Filipino women based in different parts of Poland participated in this pilot activity.
The workshop was organized to bring awareness to the Filipino migrant community about laws and regulations, resources, networks, and support systems available in Poland to help migrants integrate as well as protect themselves in difficult situations. It is part of the Embassy’s initiatives to strengthen its Assistance-to-Nationals program and bring attention to VAW issues as mandated by the campaign. END.
