On Saturday, 28 November 2020, the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw held a One-Country Team virtual meeting with Philippine honorary consular officials in Ukraine, Consul General Valeriy Kovalenko, and in Tallinn, Estonia, Consul Meelis Virkebau.

The meeting discussed the role, tasks, responsibilities and activities of honorary consular officials as critical and valuable partners of the Embassy in promoting Philippine interests and assisting Filipinos in distress in the countries under their jurisdictions.

In her remarks, Ambassador Leah Ruiz highlighted the need for active collaboration between the Philippine Embassy in Poland and the honorary consular officials in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine, particularly in view of the various challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic in accomplishing common goals and objectives in the coming year.
