The Philippine Ambassador to Poland, H.E. Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz, met with Mr. Wojciech Szymulewicz, President of the Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) company based in Gdynia, Poland, on Wednesday, 05 February 2020 at the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw.
BCT is the leading container terminal in Poland and among the top three in the Baltic region. In 2003, the Philippine-owned port management company International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) won the bid to develop, operate, and manage the container terminal in the Port of Gdynia and purchased 100% of BCT which holds the lease to the terminal. The Port of Gdynia serves the Baltic region and Central/Eastern Europe, and is a vital link in the Polish logistics gateway for steel import/export and international cargo.
Ambassador Basinang-Ruiz and Mr. Szymulewicz discussed the successful operations of ICTSI in the Port of Gdynia and the considerable investments that the Philippine company has brought to the city. The Embassy will be collaborating with ICTSI/BCT in future projects to help intensify business and cultural exchanges between the Philippines and Poland. END.
