The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, Poland participated in the 10th International Charity Bazaar organized by the Spouses of Heads of Mission (SHOM) held on 03 December 2017 at Marriott Hotel. Mrs. Kaori Matsutomi, the spouse of the Ambassador of Japan H.E. Mr. Shigeo Matsutomi, is the current President of SHOM. The representative of the Philippines to the SHOM is Attache Ms. Imelda de Joya.
The First Lady of Poland, Mrs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda graced the opening ceremony of the bazaar and visited the stall of the Philippine Embassy and bought a pearl bracelet.
SHOM has been organizing this international charity bazaar since 2008 to raise funds for Polish-based charities especially to the benefits of the elderly, children, women and families in difficult circumstances.
The Bazaar showcased the Philippine products which include dried mangoes, coconut oil, miniature jeepneys, traditional blouses, fashion accessories and pearls as well as home decors made with pearls.
This year, SHOM supported twenty-two (22) different charitable organizations. All the proceeds were turned over to SHOM at the end of the day. END
