The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, represented by Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez and Principal Assistant for Economic Diplomacy Attache Ms. Evelyn Vega attended the “Meet the Bidder 2nd Convention Bureau Summit 2016” last June 23, 2016, upon the organizer’s invitation, to pitch for the Philippines as venue for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions/Events or M.I.C.E.

During the event, Ambassador Paez and Attache Ms. Vega listened to the presentations by major stakeholders of Poland’s tourism industry as well as networked with them and other participants to forge partnerships and discuss activities for collaboration to promote the Philippines as an ideal host for M.I.C.E.

The Summit was attended by officials of different companies engaged in M.I.C.E. Destinations Management Companies (DMCs), travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, as well as tourism boards, including those from other countries.

Speakers during the event were the following: Director of Warsaw Convention Bureau Mr. Mateusz Czerwinski; M.I.C.E. Department Director of WECO Travel Ms. Grazyna Grot-Duziak; Head of Poland Convention Bureau Mr. Krzysztof Celuch; and ICCA Central European Chapter Chairperson/Business Development Director at EXPO XXI Warsaw Ms. Anna Gorska.

Meet the Bidder is a platform which provides “suppliers” with an opportunity to meet with “buyers” and seize new business opportunities. It gives an opportunity for “suppliers” to showcase the different forms of leisure activities which a  region/country offers; its M.I.C.E. and tourism-related infrastructure facilities; its DMCs; and its unique attractions and landmarks to potential “buyers.”
