The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw today received one box and one package from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) containing election paraphernalia to be used for the overseas absentee voting in connection with the May 2016 national elections.

The box and package contained preliminary electoral mail packets meant for seafarers, as well as the special election envelope bags for the election returns and for the certificate of canvass, and IDs for watchers, media and Filcom volunteers. They were opened and their contents were examined and verified by Consul Maria Alnee Gamble and Attache Imelda de Joya, in the presence of Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez who took photos to promote transparency and to document the process.

The Embassy encourages all registered voters to participate in the 2016 National Elections and vote during the Overseas Voting period beginning Saturday, 9 April 2016 at 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
