The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw participated in the Asia Trade “Know-How” 2015 Congress held in Ostroda, Poland from 19 to 21 November 2015 whose aims were to identify new opportunities for Polish companies in Asia and to provide comprehensive information on how to do business with selected countries in the region.
In her brief remarks, Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez stressed that the Philippines is the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia with a GDP growth rate of 6.1% in 2014 and 7.2% in 2013. Trade and Investment Counselor Althea Antonio of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) gave a PowerPoint presentation where she cited the Philippines’ competitive edge as an investment destination and the investment opportunities which the country offers. The video entitled “Invest Philippines” was also shown. The embassy gave away information materials such as the “Invest Philippines” kits and brochures on “Doing Business with the Philippines.” The Embassy also promoted Philippine tourism by featuring selected tourist destinations in its booth and by distributing the Polish version of “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” brochures. It also promoted Philippine products specifically Sunny Fresh dried mangoes and San Miguel beer.
The president of Expo Arena Mr. Piotr Oraczewski observed that the Philippine booth had the most number of visitors who inquired on how to export their products to or how to import certain products from the Philippines.
The CD of classic Philippine love songs was played by the organizer during the evening banquet which was big boost to the embassy’s cultural diplomacy campaign.
