(Note: The following is a news article from the Polish News Bulletin on its 19 August 2015 issue. The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw met with the officials of Pietrucha International and briefed them on the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives being offered by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority or PEZA. Pietrucha is now a locator in the Bataan Special Economic Zone.)
“Pietrucha International is starting production in the Philippines. Although at first the company was considering Malaysia because of attractive tax breaks, there was no trustworthy local partrner to be found. In the Philippines, Pietrucha found a partner with market knowledge and contacts. The partner was first Pietrucha’s distributor.”
“Now a joint venture company Pietrucha Manufacturing Philippines has been formed, with Pietrucha International holding a 67 percent stake in it. Production will start in January 2016 in the Bataan economic zone.”
“At first, Pietrucha will lease a factory and invest only in technology. A Polish manager will run the facility. After three years, the company will evaluate progress and decide whether to build its own factory or buy the existing one.”
“The investment will cost some USD 1.5-1.7 billion. The company is involved in many water engineering projects in the region.”
