Officials of two Polish universities, namely the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM-Rzeszow) and the Tischner European University expressed desire to partner with Philippine educational institutions and are inviting Filipinos to study in their universities.
In a recent meeting with Philippine envoy to Poland Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez, the Rector of UITM Prof. Tadeusz Pomianek and the Rector of the Tischner European Univeristy Prof. Piotr Klodkowski said that Filipino students should consider enrolling in their universities which offer quality education in the English language on par with other foreign universities but where the costs of tuition, as well as board and lodging, are comparatively much lower than leading universities in other countries. They also expressed their readiness to collaborate and partner with Philippine universities and colleges to intensify academic/student exchanges between Poland and the Philippines.
Vice Rector for International Relations Prof. Andrej Szlec said that he had been to the Philippines and met with officials of leading universities there and noted the lack of information about the diverse range of academic degrees which the UITM offers and where courses are conducted in English.
The UITM is one of the biggest private, non-profit universities in Poland and was founded by the Association of Entrepreneurship Promotion in Rzeszow. It offers major fields conducted in English which are: Aviation Management, International Management, Information Technology, Hospitality Management and English Language with Elements of Applied Linguistics. It is the 4th university in Europe to offer the Aviation Management course with Deutche Lufthansa as its patron.
The UITM is a partner in the training programs offered by the best IT companies in the world: CISCO, Microsoft and Atlas. Upon completion of the courses, students earn internationally recognized certificates such as Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
UITM students can also earn a degree from a number of well-known universities in the USA and Europe and the UITM offers double degree programs, without extra charges, in the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Graphics in Media, International Business, Administration, MBA, Hospitality Management, Tourism and Recreation, Public Health, Journalism and Social Communication.
Recognizing constant changes in the labor market - both domestic and international - the UITM adjusts to changes by offering new fields of study and by adjusting existing specialized courses to the requirements of the market economy and for the further integration of Poland into the EU. The UITM ensures job placements for its graduates because of its robust cooperation with various companies.
