Pulong Bayan on Irehistro
The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw held a Pulong Bayan on Irehistro and celebrated the 117th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence at the Embassy grounds last 7 June.
One hundred fifty-six (156) Filipino community members gathered at the Embassy grounds as a thanksgiving Holy Mass was celebrated prior to the Pulong Bayan. The Independence Day messages of the President, the Vice President, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary of Labor and Employment were read by Philippine Embassy officials and personnel.
The Independence Day celebration was highlighted with the partaking of traditional Filipino fare of Chicken Adobo, Pancit and Lechon; cultural performances by members of the Filipino community; and holding of Filipino traditional games such as pabitin, sack race and Maria went to market relay.
The Embassy also mounted the exhibit entitled “The Philippines: The Making of a Nation” during the occasion. Eleven (11) new overseas voters registered during the event
