Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez together with the Filipino community and UN Volunteers

Philippine Embassy personnel and members of the Filipino community in Poland joined the UN Blue March of Peace held in Warsaw, Poland last 20 June to mark the 70th anniversary of the UN Charter.

The event was organized by the United Nations Information Centre in Warsaw (UNIC). 

A group of drummers from the “Ritmo Bloco” group enlivened the march with its energetic performance.  The Philippine contingent likewise performed a specially choreographed “flag march” during the event to the delight of the UN officials and onlookers.

Mr. Artur Zmijeswski read portions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  Hundreds of blue and white balloons were released to the sky after the program amidst cheers from the audience.

Various UN agencies in Poland such as the UNICEF, UNHCR, UNEP/GRID, WHO UNESCO and the Association of Veterans of UN Peacekeeping Missions participated in the march.
