Philippine Ambassador to Poland Ms. Patricia Ann V. Paez said that the Asia-Pacific is the principal driver behind the wheels of global growth, that is why  many have hailed the 21st century as the “Pacific Century” or the “Asia Century,” but she also stressed that socio-economic inequality must be addressed to ensure that the remarkable high economic growth of the region is sustainable.

The lady envoy made these statements during the 7th International Conference of the Wroclaw University of Economics last 16 November 2014 where she delivered a speech entitled “Redefinition of the Role of the Asia-Pacific Region in the Global Economy: Partnership or Leadership?”

Amb. Paez also spotlighted on the Philippines high GDP growth rate of 6.3% last year and its rise to the 21st place in the Grant Thornton 2013 Global Dynamism Index
