DFA Undersecretary Highlights Philippines’ Perspective on International Issues at Roundtable with Polish Institute of International Affairs

DFA Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro and the Polish Institute of International Affairs conducts a closed roundtable discussion

WARSAW 15 November 2024 – DFA Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro held a roundtable discussion with the Polish Institute of International Affairs (Polski Instytut Spraw Międzynarodowych or PISM) in Warsaw, Poland, and shared the Philippine perspective on the current world order and the situation in the Asia-Pacific region.

Undersecretary Lazaro underscored that the Philippines shares the common values of human rights, rule of law and the rules-based international order with the European Union and its Member States. She invited Poland to consider joining the chorus of like-minded countries that have publicly expressed support for Philippine efforts to uphold the rule of law in the South China Sea, including calling on all parties to abide by the final and legally-binding 2016 Arbitral Award.

Following her remarks, the Undersecretary had a stimulating exchange of ideas with the PISM analysts and external researchers who attended the event, led by Mr. Marcin Terlikowski, Acting Head of the Research and Analysis Office of PISM. END
