Philippine Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Delivers Lecture on PH Foreign Policy at the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw

DFA Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro delivers a lecture at the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw

WARSAW 15 November 2024 – DFA Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro visited Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland to deliver a lecture providing an introduction to the Philippines and Philippine foreign policy. She also gave a brief overview of the relations between the Philippines and Poland.

Undersecretary Lazaro explained that the Philippines strongly advocates for the rules-based international order, and underscored the Philippines’ commitment to standing up for its sovereignty. The Undersecretary also reiterated the Philippines’ commitment to peace and diplomacy in the resolution of disputes.

On Philippines-Poland relations, Undersecretary Lazaro highlighted that the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations last year, and are enjoying a high point in bilateral ties, having developed strong bonds through shared values, mutual respect, and cooperation across various sectors.

Undergraduate and graduate students of Collegium Civitas and members of the diplomatic corps in Warsaw attended the lecture. 

Undersecretary Lazaro was received by the Rector of Collegium Civitas, Professor Stanisław Mocek, with whom she discussed possible cooperation with academic institutions in the Philippines. END
