VILNIUS 10 May 2024 – The Filipino Food Month 2024 with the theme “Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago” was celebrated for the first time in Lithuania through a series of activities which started with a Philippine Pastillas Workshop held at the IOM Office in the capital city Vilnius on 24 April 2024. The FFM 2024 was organized by Filipino entrepreneur Ms. Anna Celina Varanavicius with the support of the IOM Office in Vilnius.

The Workshop aimed to teach the participants how to make flavored and filled pastillas and to introduce them to popular Filipino flavors such as ube, coconut-pandan, jackfruit, and the world-famous Philippine mango.

The second activity to celebrate FFM 2024 was the Filipino Food and Culture Day on 27 April 2024, which was also held at the IOM Office in Vilnius. Philippine Ambassador to Lithuania Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz was invited to attend as Guest of Honor. END
