DFA-OEA-WARSAW PE PARTICIPATES AS MEMBER OF PHILDEL TO THE 2023 OPEN GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIP-GLOBAL SUMMIT IN TALLINN, ESTONIA

04-07 September 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, with funding support from the Office of European Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs, assisted and participated as Member of the Philippine Delegation to the 2023 Open Government Partnership-Global Summit (OGP-GS) hosted by the Government of Estonia on 6-7 September 2023.

As partner agency, the DFA-OEA-Warsaw PE arranged the venue and conference facilities of the OGP Side Event on 04 September 2023 entitled “Innovation Talks: Fostering Transparency and Public Participation through Open Budget Portals” which was co-organized and co-hosted by the Philippine Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency (GIFT).

In preparation for the OGP Summit, the 64-member Philippine Delegation comprising high-level officials from the relevant government agencies including DBM, DICT, DILG, DOJ, DFA, and the Supreme Court, also conducted a Coordination Meeting on 05 September 2023, led by the Honorable Secretary of Budget and Management Ms. Amenah F. Pangandaman.

In her welcome remarks during the Coordination Meeting, Ambassador Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz stressed that the significant Philippine presence and active participation in this historic OGP-Global Summit, which serves as a platform for democracy, transparency in governance and accountability, reinforces the growing and expanding ties of friendship and cooperation between Estonia and the Philippines, which already span more than three decades since December 2021.
