PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR TO POLAND PARTICIPATES IN THE POLAND-ASEAN CONFERENCE AT THE SEJM
08 September 2022 – Philippine Ambassador Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz, Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Warsaw (ACW), participated in the one-day conference entitled “Poland-ASEAN Relations: Ambitious Partnership in a Changing World”, which was co-organized by the Chairs of the Sejm’s Parliamentary Groups with ASEAN countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, and the ACW.
It was held at the Sejm’s Column Hall and was attended by at least 150 persons including members and staff from the Sejm, representatives from the business community and the academe, and members of the diplomatic corps.
In her speech, Ambassador Ruiz highlighted developments in the PHL-PL relations and the forthcoming 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations on 22 September 2023, the current PHL Chairmanship of the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership which will celebrate 45 years of cooperation during the historic ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit on 14 December 2022, and drew attention to the urgent need for the successful conclusion of the EU-PHL FTA negotiations.
