OFWS IN POLAND RECEIVE THEIR OWWA E-CARDS
Active OWWA members in Poland have started receiving their OFW e-CARDs during a simple hand-over ceremony at the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw on November 10, 2021.
A total of 433 e-CARDs will be issued to OWWA members in Poland. At its first phase of implementation, the e-CARD’s initial functions include easy access to OWWA programs and services; automated verification of membership records; faster processing time; counterpart Digital OFW e-Card in the OWWA Mobille App; and serves as a government-issued identity Card for transactions with government agencies.
OFWs in Poland are the second batch of e-CARD recipients after the project’s maiden launch during the Philippine Labor Day celebration in Germany last May 2021. This onsite e-CARD issuance is POLO´s second pilot initiative that follows the kick off of the first online OWWA membership registration last June 6, 2021 on the occasion of the 26th Migrant Workers Day celebration.
The ongoing e-CARD distribution in Poland is a Country Team collaboration of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Berlin, the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, and the OWWA Head Office in Manila.
By being active OWWA members, migrant Filipino workers are afforded social protection and full entitlement to OWWA´s programs and services especially during this time of Covid 19 pandemic. OFWs may register/renew their OWWA membership through this link: https://membership.owwa.gov.ph.
