Pursuant to Proclamation No. 829, Series of 1991, the nation will be observing the
Deaf Awareness Week on 10-16 November 2020, with the theme “We Hear as One:
Defying Communication Barriers for the Empowerment of Deaf Persons.”

The occasion aims to strengthen public awareness on deaf culture, language and
communication barriers that hinder the inclusion of deaf persons in national
development.
