Why consider the Philippines
Tourism plays a vital role in the sustained economic progress and great potential of the Philippines as a competitive tourism hub in Asia, given the country's abundant natural beauty and rich cultural heritage spread across over 7.100 islands. Under the Philippine National Tourism Development Plan 2016–22, developing sustainable and inclusive tourist destinations remains a key priority.
In view of this industrial expansion strategy and given various untapped commercial opportunities for EU-28 tourism investors and suppliers in the booming Philippine tourism sector, EPBN's proposed commercial mission aims to:
Inform EU companies about market opportunities in Philippine tourism
Raise awareness among outbound EU tour & travel operators on leading tourist destinations in the Philippines
Identify a number of tourism economic sites and related business activities that are suitable and attractive for trade and investment by EU locators and tourism suppliers
Outline various investment incentives provided by the Philippine government for EU companies
Visit major holiday destinations and tourism enterprise zones as prospective investment locations and new sources of business growth for EU tourism enterprises
