2nd ENFID General Meeting (31 July)
and the
2nd European Regional Conference of Overseas Filipinos (1-2 August)
At: San Antonio Hotel, Triq it-Turisti, Qawra, St Paul’s Bay, Malta
Theme: “Ako ay Filipino sa Europa: “Ganito Ako Ngayon, Paano Ako Bukas?”
(I Am an Overseas Filipino, This is Me Now, Where Am I Tomorrow)
The conference offers a forum for self-examination, analysis and discussion with talks and
workshop led by prominent Filipino and non-Filipino experts in Migration Culture. It will tackle topics concerning the flourishing of the Filipino identity in Europe’s multicultural society as well as the “social remittance” Euro-Pinoys lend towards Philippine development, prosperity and security.
There is an ongoing an Essay-Writing contest and winners will be announced at the conference.
Alongside ENFiD, the conference is made possible with endorsement of the Commission on
Filipinos Overseas, patronage from the Malta Tourism Authority, support from Air Malta, the Malta Emigrants Commission, and Attard Holdings, Inc., and assistance provided by the encouraging volunteer spirit of Filipino associations in Malta.
More importantly, no less than President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca of the Republic of Malta will be addressing the assembly on 1 August when the conference opens.
