ADVISORY NO. 01/2022

REVISED TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS BY 01 FEBRUARY 2022 AND 10 FEBRUARY 2022

 

Further to Advisory Nos. 21, 24, 25, 27, 28,  and 29 of last year, the Embassy is pleased to announce to the traveling public that the following travel restrictions and border control measures will be in place effective 01 February 2022 and 10 February 2022, by virtue of IATF Resolution No. 159 dated 27 January 2022.

A) STARTING ON 01 FEBRUARY 2022: NEW TESTING AND QUARANTINE PROTOCOLS

  1. The issuance of tourist visas to, and the visa-free entry to the Philippines of, foreign nationals remains  SUSPENDED.  
  2. The classification of the country of origin into groups of increasing risks, namely, the “Green” List, the “Yellow” List, and the “Red” List is SUSPENDED temporarily.
  3. Fully vaccinated arriving international passengers must present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to departure from their country of origin. They will not be required to observe mandatory facility-based quarantine but shall self-monitor themselves for any sign or symptom for seven (7) days.   They shall report to the local government unit of destination if any signs or symptoms appear.  The following are recognized as proof of vaccination: a) WHO International Certificates of Vaccination and Prohylaxis; b) VaxCertPH; and c) National/state digital certificate of the foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal agreement unless otherwise permitted by the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF).
  4. Arriving international passengers who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or with unverifiable vaccination status must present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to departure from their country of origin. They will be required to undergo facility-based quarantine until the release of their negative RT-PCR test taken on the fifth (5th) day.  After that, they shall be required to undergo home quarantine until their fourteenth (14th) day, with the day of arrival counted as the first day.
  5. Children below twelve (12) years of age who cannot be vaccinated shall follow the quarantine protocols of the parent/s or the accompanying adult/guardian travelling with them.
  6. Those who are undergoing quarantine as of 01 February 2022 may follow the new testing and quarantine protocols above.

B) STARTING ON 10 FEBRUARY 2022: PARTIAL LIFTING ON BAN ON ENTRY OF FOREIGN NATIONALS

Effective 10 February 2022, fully vaccinated nationals of non-visa required countries (such as nationals holding Polish, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian passports) shall be allowed to enter the Philippines, subject to the following conditions:

  1. They hold passports valid for at least six (6) months at the time of arrival, and with return or outbound ticket to their country of origin or next destination.
  2. They have proof of vaccination against Covid-19 like a) WHO International Certificates of Vaccination and Prohylaxis; b) VaxCertPH; and c) National/state digital certificate of the foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal agreement unless otherwise permitted by the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF).
  3. Children below eighteen (18) years of age are exempted from the requirement of full vaccination and providing proof of vaccination status prior to boarding.
  4. They shall observe the existing testing and quarantine protocols in place for fully vaccinated international arriving passengers listed above in all ports of entry.
  5. Fully vaccinated nationals shall not be included in the arrival quota set by the Department of Transportation and its One-Stop-Shop.

The Embassy requests the traveling public to constantly monitor the Embassy’s Advisories Page for changes in the above rules on short notice.
