The Embassy wishes to advise the public that the following foreign nationals are now also exempted from the temporary suspension of visa issuance:
- Foreign spouses of Filipino nationals;
- Foreign minor children, and foreign children with special needs regardless of age, of Filipino nationals; and,
- Foreign parents of minor Filipino children, and of Filipino children with special needs regardless of age.
The above-mentioned persons may be allowed entry into the Philippines starting 09 August 2020, provided they hold valid Philippine visas. The requirement for a visa includes those nationals who previously enjoyed visa-free privileges. This likewise covers former Filipino nationals, naturalized as citizens of other countries, who fit the above-mentioned categories.
The Embassy will resume issuance of visas to qualified persons, pursuant to applicable regulations, and provided they present documentary proof.
The above policy is based on Resolution No. 60 dated 30 July 2020 issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), and Foreign Service Circular No. 29-2020 dated 03 August 2020.
