PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR VISITS PHILIPPINE INVESTMENT IN PORT OF GDYNIA

As part of his continuing engagement with the business community, Ambassador Alan L. Deniega met with Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) President and CEO Wojciech Szymulewicz in the northern Polish port city of Gdynia on 17 November 2025.

BCT is the leading container terminal in Poland and one of the largest terminals in the Baltic Region. Its owner, ICTSI, is headed by one of the Philippines’ captains of industry, Mr. Enrique K. Razon, Jr.

Joined by BCT Financial Director Adam Kaliszewski, the BCT President and CEO briefed the embassy delegation on the company’s accomplishments in the last 20 years, since it was acquired by Philippine port management giant International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) in 2003. The company is undergoing expansion projects under a new 30-year lease extension agreement with the Port of Gdynia Authority and a massive loan infusion from the EU.

Ambassador Deniega welcomed these developments and looks forward to the implementation of related major infrastructure projects, including road renovation, railway construction and harbor improvement.

During his tour of the BCT facility, the Ambassador had the opportunity to meet two Filipino IT employees currently on loan in BCT’s headquarters.
